Post MBA My first job as a Digital Marketer
From formal dress codes, management books to timely deliveries of presentations and to classroom lectures as a management student. The journey was difficult though but pulled it off with great zeal. So today I stand here completing a year at Ethinos Digital Marketing talking about my journey!
What has changed?
Trying to recollect all the effort I had put in to make it to a B school, it took me two years to clear my CET for enrollment. This journey was a little different from my degree days. It almost involved more than 14 hours of investment to make every day get better at the B-school. From discussions to finally getting to coordinating and agreeing with everyone on how a presentation would finally be like was a tedious task. Had to fight out every opponent to agree to views and vice versa.
It was exciting!! Two years flew by and Ethinos Digital Marketing was my first placement. From formals to casuals was such a relief. A career in digital marketing is not for the faint hearted! You have to be sharp and on the ball. You have to love online interaction and be quick with the ideas and plans. In short you really need to know your stuff & what you have to post as you are responsible for the brand you are impersonating in your post!
Your company relies on you to paint the picture of how the company is seen by the public using online resource. You will analyze who the customers are, where they come from, and what they expect.
Everyone looks to you for ideas on emails that will work! Or for insights on how a business proposal should be like. 2011 has been a mix and match of working on various creative pieces which I wouldn’t have had a chance to explore anywhere else.
As a digital marketer you need to know how to use the right tools to get the answers you need, the right media to get the results you desire and the right planning to get it to run like clockwork. In short, social media is all about quality content and engagement. So here I am, looking forward to this year, as it has taken a different route. Excited anxious and nervous… all set to open happiness coming my way … cheers 2012….!!!
