How has social media fared in the past one year? How much has it delivered on all the promises that mostly every social media agency confidently promised its clients?
Not bad at all I’d say!
If you look at the numbers, connectivity through internet connections, broadband connections, internet through mobiles, and social media has shown steady growth. The numbers currently stand as follows:
Internet Connections – 205 million
Broadband Connections – 15.36 million
Internet through Mobiles – 110 million

In terms of regional distribution, Mumbai has the highest number of internet users (12 million), followed by Delhi (8.1 million) and Hyderabad (4.7 million).
The year-on-year growth of internet users in India is 40%, with the number of internet users in rural and urban India hitting 68 million and 137 million respectively.
India is predicted to become the second highest internet user after China, by 2014 and overtake the number of internet users in USA.
Will that happen? If it does, when will it happen? All these are questions that only time can answer!
